Prentice Pendleton and The Ghost Ship of Capron Bay is a spine-tingling, sea-splashed comedy horror about one unlucky kid, one creepy town, and a boat that seriously refuses to stay sunk. After a car accident during the weirdest year on Earth, Prentice Pendleton’s life flips upside down faster than a haunted rowboat in a hurricane. His family packs up and moves to Capron Bay, Massachusetts, his dad’s old hometown, a place full of salty air, suspicious neighbors, and way too many people who say things like, “We don’t go near the water after dark.” Totally normal town. Definitely not cursed. While trying to survive a new school, new bullies, and a house that makes noises even when nobody’s home, Prentice meets a group of kids who whisper about a ghost ship called The Ennis. According to legend, whenever the ship appears in the fog, someone in Capron Bay is about to have a very bad day… possibly their last. And guess what? Prentice sees it. Now he and his friends are racing to uncover the truth behind a centuries-old curse, a forgotten World War II disaster, and a town that seems determined to keep its secrets buried deeper than a pirate’s treasure chest. The closer they get to the truth, the angrier the ghost ship becomes, and it’s not sailing in just for sightseeing. With storm clouds gathering and the Ennis rising from the mist, Prentice must face a chilling question: Is the ship haunting Capron Bay… or is it calling him home? Packed with creepy clues, laugh-out-loud scares, and a showdown that rocks the harbor, this is a ghost story about friendship, family, and the kind of fear that floats in on the tide, whether you’re ready or not.
Learn MorePrentice Pendleton and The Boo Hags is the darkly thrilling second installment in the Supernatural Squad of Capron Bay, where ancient folklore awakens and childhood itself becomes a battlefield. As the world struggles to rebuild after years of fear and isolation, Prentice hopes for a quiet summer, a chance to breathe, to heal, to pretend life might finally return to normal. But Capron Bay has never been a place where normal survives for long. Children begin waking with marks carved into their skin. Shadows linger in rooms long after the lights are turned on. Whispers travel through the town at night, carried on warm coastal winds. The adults fear sickness. Prentice knows better. Something old has crossed into their world. The Boo Hags, demons drawn from the oldest Gullah legends, have come hunting. They feed on fear, slip between dreams and waking, and wear stolen skins like disguises. And their arrival is no accident. Someone has summoned them. Someone wants Prentice dead. When a mysterious woman named Anyika Tulah arrives in Capron Bay, her presence ripples through the town like a warning bell. She knows more about the Boo Hags than she admits, and her connection to their rising power forces Prentice and his friends to question everything: loyalty, destiny, and the price of survival. As the Supernatural Squad uncovers a conspiracy that stretches beyond their small town, involving hired killers, hidden enemies, and adults fighting their own secret war, Prentice realizes the truth he’s been avoiding... This was never just about monsters. It was about him. To protect the people he loves, Prentice must step into a legacy older than the town itself and face an enemy that cannot be outrun, bargained with, or reasoned away. The Boo Hags are coming, and every night they grow stronger. Because fear is their doorway. And Capron Bay has left the door wide open.

Prentice Pendleton is living the kind of life most boys in the Carolinas dream about. He excels on the baseball diamond and football field, does well in school, and spends his days learning life lessons from his beloved grandfather—his Poppa. With middle school just around the corner, Prentice is excited about what the future holds. Then, in a single devastating moment, everything changes. An unexpected accident takes Poppa from him, and Prentice is diagnosed with an epileptic seizure disorder. Soon after, his family leaves the only home he has ever known and moves to the quiet coastal town of Capron Bay, Massachusetts, where his father steps into the role of Chief of Police—taking the place once held by Poppa. But adjusting to a new town, a new school, and a new life is only the beginning. Prentice soon discovers he carries an ancient and mysterious legacy. He possesses the ability to wield the power of colors and has unknowingly inherited the mantle of the last Rainbow Warrior on Earth. Though bigger and stronger than many kids his age, Prentice will need far more than strength to face what lies ahead. With the help of his Southern manners and a group of unexpected new friends, he must navigate epilepsy, school bullies, small-town politics, and dark supernatural forces that threaten Capron Bay. Because sometimes the greatest battles aren’t fought with fists… they’re fought with courage, friendship, and the power of who you choose to become.
Learn MorePrentice’s closest friend is Lena Sheridan. With her long jet-black hair, emerald-green eyes, and sun-kissed freckles, Lena is easily the prettiest girl Prentice has ever seen. But she isn’t the delicate, princess-type beauty people might expect. Lena is tall, athletic, and carries herself with a quiet strength that few teenagers possess. She is strong-willed and confident, both in herself and in the people she cares about. Fiercely loyal and honest, Lena never backs down from doing what she believes is right. Lately, she’s also beginning to realize that her feelings for Prentice may be growing into something more than friendship. Lena shines on the baseball field and proudly cheers for her beloved Boston Red Sox. While Prentice may possess extraordinary powers and a natural presence that commands attention, everyone in the group understands who truly holds the team together. Lena’s courage, independence, intelligence, and unwavering confidence make her the natural leader of the squad. She is, in every sense, the heart of the team, and the very definition of an All-American girl.
Learn MoreRachel Gainey is Lena’s closest friend, aside from Prentice. Tall and confident, Rachel stands even a little taller than Prentice himself. She has long black hair, a warm, bright smile, and a pair of glasses that somehow make that smile even more charming. Rachel is a natural athlete, something she likely inherited from her father, a former All-Pro linebacker for the New England Patriots who now serves as one of the team’s coaches. But Rachel’s talents go far beyond sports. She is intelligent, quick-thinking, and fiercely loyal to her friends. Rachel and Dakota are almost always seen together. Everyone in the squad knows the two of them like each other, everyone except Dakota and Rachel themselves. Like Lena, Rachel is an “everything girl.” Whether it’s sports, school, or helping her friends when things go sideways, she can handle it all. And when the boys in the squad start heading toward trouble, Rachel is usually the one who steps in first to set them straight.
Learn MoreDakota Baird is the tall, lanky Native American member of the Supernatural Squad. Like most of the group, Dakota loves baseball and is rarely far from the field when the team is playing. Dakota is the grandson of Chief Tackna, the former leader of the Wampanoag Nation. When the squad finds itself facing mysteries they can’t explain, they often turn to the Chief for guidance and wisdom drawn from generations of history and tradition. Dakota also carries a past that makes him a little more cautious than the others. He has had unsettling encounters with the legendary Pukwudgies, trickster spirits from Wampanoag folklore, and those experiences have left him a bit jumpy whenever something supernatural begins to stir. Because of that history, Dakota is often the member of the team who feels fear first. But what makes Dakota special is that he never lets fear stop him. Even when he’s nervous, he refuses to abandon his friends. In fact, when the squad first confronts the terrifying Ghost Ship of Capron Bay, Dakota is the very first one to charge into the fight—earning himself a nasty concussion in the process. For Dakota, courage doesn’t mean not being afraid. It means standing with your friends anyway.
Learn MoreShort, sandy-haired, and covered in freckles, Franklin is the smallest member of the Supernatural Squad, but what he lacks in size he more than makes up for in heart. Standing up to bullies has never been easy for the small blond boy, yet Franklin never backs down from a fight. Whether he’s facing troublemakers in town, the shady characters lurking around Old Lenny’s Warehouse, or even a terrifying skin-wearing Boo Hag, Franklin refuses to let fear stop him. Sarcastic, quick-witted, and armed with a sharp sense of humor, Franklin is always ready with a clever remark, sometimes to the amusement of his friends and sometimes to the frustration of his teachers. In fact, his habit of giving teachers and even the principal a hard time has earned him a permanent seat in detention. Despite his fiery temper, Franklin is deeply loyal to his friends. He will always step in to defend Dakota, whose quieter nature sometimes makes him an easy target. Their friendship runs deep, and Franklin will protect him no matter the cost. Franklin also loves baseball and throws incredibly hard from the pitcher’s mound, though where the ball is actually going is often anyone’s guess. And when Mollie eventually joins the group, Franklin is instantly captivated by her, even after learning she’s a ghost. Strange or not, it doesn’t matter to him. Franklin will do whatever it takes to help her. Because when it comes to his friends, Franklin Carter may be small, but he’s fearless.
Learn MoreAdam Wells is an essential member of the Supernatural Squad and plays a role in nearly everything the team does—from baseball games to muddy expeditions deep into the Freetown Forest. What makes this even more remarkable is that Adam doesn’t have the use of his legs and relies on a wheelchair to get around. But Adam refuses to let that slow him down. Known as the team’s tech genius, Adam often has access to cutting-edge equipment thanks to his father, an experimental engineer at Minuteman Tech. Whether it’s surveillance gear, custom-built gadgets, or powerful communications systems, Adam is usually the one who provides the tools the squad needs to face whatever mystery lies ahead. His high-tech wheelchair often doubles as the team’s mobile command center during their adventures. Outfitted with specialized gear and clever modifications, it allows Adam to stay right in the middle of the action. Adam would never allow his friends to face danger without him. Even though he cannot walk, he insists on standing with the squad whenever trouble appears. His determination and courage make him one of the bravest members of the group. Unfortunately, Adam’s disability also makes him a target for the town’s bullies, who often mock and belittle him. But Adam refuses to be intimidated. When pushed too far, he stands his ground—sometimes even fighting back from his wheelchair. Because Adam Wells doesn’t measure strength by what someone can’t do. He proves it through everything he can.
Learn MoreMollie Thompson is the daughter of Fiona Thompson, who assisted Brother Kiernan during a criminal investigation. Like Brother Kiernan, Mollie has albinism. Her hair is bleach blond curly, and her skin is very fair. Her eyes are pink. Despite being shy and soft-spoken, she becomes friends with Prentice and the squad after meeting them. Having a wise-cracking squad member infatuated with her helps. Franklin is immediately captivated by Mollie's beauty and personality, and he doesn't hesitate to express it. In their quest to defeat the Boo Hags, Mollie becomes a vital member of the team. A problem remains, however, that Prentice and his team cannot solve. There is one obvious difference between Mollie and all the other members. She is dead. She and her father, a Louisiana police officer, were mortally wounded in an off-duty attack. The young girl, however, was not able to cross over due to her mother's grief, and has been attached to her mother for many years. Mollie discovers Prentice when her mother is asked to assist with Brother Kiernan's arrest. Through the use of a ward, the group accidentally restores her physical form. By relying on Anyika, they can keep her in the real world for a short time, but everyone knows that it is a ticking time bomb that will reveal a spirit living among the children.

Learn MoreThe headquarters of the Supernatural Squad sits high among the branches of a massive oak tree in the Sheridans’ backyard. The impressive treehouse was originally designed by Adam’s father, an experimental engineer, and brought to life with the help of the squad’s parents and the kids themselves. Built with accessibility in mind, the headquarters is fully handicapped accessible. A sturdy ramp winds upward through the tree, connecting both levels of the fort. For anyone unable to climb or drive up the ramp, a special lift platform powered by a winch can raise them safely into the treehouse. The entire structure is designed to be safe, secure, and fully ADA compliant. Despite being hidden in a tree, the headquarters is surprisingly high-tech. It has its own power, running water, and Wi-Fi, allowing the squad to operate independently while planning their investigations. The main room on the first level serves as the team’s command center. A retractable movie screen drops from the ceiling, allowing the squad to search for information, study old maps, and research the strange mysteries that seem to follow Capron Bay. Large windows overlook the dense woods behind the Sheridan house. Learn MoreBrother Kiernan is a Catholic priest, and like many priests, he lives a simple life without many personal possessions. But the work he does requires far more than prayer books and vestments. His mission often calls for advanced technology, specialized tools, and protective equipment designed to confront forces most people refuse to believe exist. For that reason, he travels in a very unusual RV. At first glance, the vehicle looks old and worn, the kind of weathered camper most people would drive past without a second thought. Its faded paint and rattling panels make it seem like little more than a relic from another decade. But appearances can be deceiving. Hidden beneath that ordinary exterior is a powerful, high-tech machine built for one purpose: hunting the supernatural. Packed with advanced sensors, research equipment, protective gear, and weapons designed to battle creatures of legend, the RV serves as a mobile command center for facing things that go bump in the night. When Brother Kiernan teams up with Prentice and the Supernatural Squad, the vehicle becomes their rolling headquarters—a high-tech, supernatural-hunting machine that carries them wherever demons, monsters, and dark mysteries appear. To everyone else, it’s just an old RV parked on the side of the road. But the Squad knows the truth. It’s one of their greatest weapons in the fight against the darkness.
